TBE respects user privacy and believes the best way to serve users through a website is with honesty, accountability and adherence to legal standards. We are sensitive to the issue of privacy and have structured the features of the Site to minimize the requirement to collect Personal Information, and to maximize user control over the collection, use and disclosure of any Personal Information collected.
What information do we collect?
TBE may collect two types of information from visitors to the Site: Personal Information and Non-Personal Information. Personal Information is any information about you as an identifiable individual, such as your name, your child’s first name, address, postal code, telephone number, and e-mail address. TBE only collects Personal Information where it is voluntarily provided by the individual in question.
Non-Personal Information is any information that cannot be associated with an identifiable individual, such as aggregated statistical information (e.g. the average length of time users spend visiting the site), or other anonymous information, such as the type and version of browser being used to access the Site.
TBE Inc. generally collects Personal Information from you in order to provide you with products and services, to administer contests and special events, to better understand user preferences and to market our products and services.
Why is the information collected?
At TBE we have created lots of fun activities that Parents and children can participate in all year round.
In order to access some services through the Site, Parents may be required to register or otherwise voluntarily provide Personal Information. For example, registration is needed to subscribe to various newsletters and notifications.
For example, by becoming a member of the Site, and providing basic Personal Information to us, Parents can:
- opt-in to receive our monthly and/or weekly Losh Bears newsletters and/or news;
- opt-in to receive “Losh Bears” contests;
- opt-in to receive “Losh Bears” marketing material;
In addition to using Personal Information to keep in contact with users, TBE may use your information for the following purposes: (i) to better understand viewer and user needs; (ii) to improve the content and format of our Site; (iii) to keep you informed about products and services in which you have expressed an interest; (iv) to complete business transactions; (v) to contact you as part of a promotion; (vi) to administer individual accounts; (vii) to provide customer support; (viii) to meet legal requirements.
Personal Information will also be required to enter certain contests sponsored by TBE or its affiliated brands and companies. The nature of the Personal Information required and the purposes for which it will be used will be set out in the terms and conditions respecting each such contest.
TBE may collect Non-Personal Information through your use of the Site, or other TBE apps and websites. We use this information to assess general usage patterns, including identifying repeat users; to collect demographic information; to administer and make improvements to the Site, to tailor our visitor’s experiences with the Site and to display content (including advertising) according to inferred parental interests. Losh Bears, its parent company TBE and its subsidiary and holding companies and our business partners, including successors and assigns, reserve the right to use, maintain, update, disclose and/or sell aggregated and Non-Personal Information to third parties.
Personal Information for Contests
A user can enter a TBE contest through the Site. Only parents or those who have reached the age of majority in their province of residence may enter contests on the Site. On the online entry form, we ask for Personal Information such as the entrant’s name and address. Unless otherwise specified in the applicable contest rules, this Personal Information is collected, used and/or disclosed solely for the purpose of awarding contest prizes, tracking compliance with the official rules and regulations and for internal feedback purposes. TBE only uses and discloses a contest winner’s name and photograph after receiving prior written consent from the winner.
With whom do we share information?
We do not disclose your Personal Information to third parties except to the extent necessary to enable them to provide the specific services to you or on your behalf. Third party service providers are contractually bound to maintain the confidentiality of your Personal Information and are prohibited from using your Personal Information for any other purpose.
In the event of a proposed or actual sale of all or a substantial portion of our business assets, your Personal Information may be disclosed to potential buyers where necessary to determine whether to proceed with the transaction. Where such a transaction is completed, your Personal Information may be among the transferred assets. In such event, the purchaser will continue to be subject to the confidentiality obligations posted herein.
